Little (Really Little!) World Views - Of Macro Lenses and Bees Knees

I've wanted a macro lens for, like, evah!  And now I have one...for my iPhone, thank you very much.

I've become an all iPhone girl and I've entered a whole new world!  For instance, from my new macro-world today we have this...

...and this...

...and speaking of this new lens being the 'bees knees'...am I the only one who missed third grade science and the fact that bees have fingerprint-like patterns on their gossamer wings?!?

All images shot during the Aix en Provence meeting of the Worldwide Instameet organized by Instagram.  Our Instameet group wandered around the fountains of Aix and stuck to that theme all day long.  More about this later but right now, I've got to tuck myself and my fluffly little dog in for the night and dream about bees lovely wings!

Yours ... in macro bliss,
leslie

These are just lovely shots Leslie. (I never knew that you could get a macro for an iPhone...not that I have one...I'm an Android guy myself)! You've taken me waaaay back to my school biology classes thinking about bees.

Beautiful photos! I love the bees wings. I sure didn't know they had fingerprint-like patterns on their wings? That is so cool. I must have missed that in third grade too!

Lovely, lovely photos. Can you provide the name of the iPhone macro app? I've searched but cannot find a macro app; may be overlooking it. That bee shot is spectacular!

Wow! I'm waaaay behind on keeping up with you guys! Thanks to all for your patience.

AL, thanks so much! Yes, macro is available for iPhone (more below) I'm guessing it won't be long before it's available for the 'droids as well! (Funny thing about those bee/biology class anchors!)

déjà pseu, Thanks so much. I l.o.v.e. my iPhone! love it. I'm a very happy mac-girl.

Kris, Thanks! I was so surprised to see the patterns on these wings. And those bees were quite amicable to allow me to get up close and personal with them. These were shot at the thermal fountain on cours Mirabeau and the moss was swarming with the critters. One must hold that macro lens about 1/2 inch from the subject...'nuff said!

sanda, thank you thank you. The lens for the iPhone is the olloclip. Macro is just one of the lenses. Note: you have to hold *really* still to get the shot. It does not have an internal stabilization. And thanks again!
