La Fourchette's Festival of Lights - And "Light Ups"

Perhaps I should take up smoking, because bbbrrrrrrrr.... is it ever cooooooold outside!.  This fellow doesn't even seem to need a sweater!  In today's rain, his petite cigarette break would be snuffed right out.

What's cookin' in your 'hood weather-wise on this fine Tuesday?

Only two more weeks to order the current selection of cards!  Those puppies are gone at the end of this December then January will ring in a new selection of the month.  Order now for anyone on your list during 2012.

Yep, just what I like..my waiter having a heater before serving dessert. It's so ... French :) Great photo. Love the cards I ordered. The quality is far beyond mass produced cards. Merci!

I hate to tell you this...but I use to do the same thing this waiter is doing. When they wouldn't allow smoking in some of the restaurants, I would go outside to have a smoke...this was in Northwest Indiana about one hour from downtown Chicago so it was extremely cold...shivering cold and snowy...but it never stopped me!

I quit about 4 years ago after smoking all of my adult life. I didn't have any problems when I stopped...it was as though I never had smoked a cigarette in my life. No side effects from withdrawal...nothing!

Sigh...while I would never go back to it, I still love the smell and I still would like to have one with a cup of coffee or after dinner! LOL BAD, BAD, KRIS!

Madame LER,

Del Mar, a small European-like village on the beach, just north of San Diego, CA, is 63 F at 12 noon, perfectly sunny with intermittent clouds passing by, and a slight breeze. Sort of our usual, but we expect it to reach 70 F over the weekend. You can wear shorts on our beach over the XMAS holidays.

There you have it. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays,

Bubba's Person

PS Give our love to Bodhi.

Tamsie, my favorite shot (yet to be captured) is when they sit across from this door in a line smoking away! (merci, by the way...and again for the very nice words about the cards.)

Kris, that's exactly what's happened here in France: no smoking in restaurants as of a couple of years ago...it may be even longer than that. What a relief...errr...unless you're one of the people forced outside for a little ciggie break...then, not so much of a relief, I imagine. Felicitations for stopping!

BP, ooooohhhhh...sounds lovely! There'll be no shorts worn around here for several more months...unless it's over long-johns and under coats!

Love to Bodhi extended from his California friends!
