Gorgeous! Just hits the spot for me, as I sit down to write the second half of a short story set in Provence for a magazine.

Bon weekend, Leslie!

Leslie,

This is a beautiful photograph (and very welcome to us here on the West Coast of the U.S., where it's raining madly). Thanks for sending us the soft light...

Oh, I love the yellow and red orange, or is it orange on the buildings. It is so cheery and just as I would imagine it to be. I love the colors used on the homes in France and the lovely patina that follows over time. It's no wonder that a lot of people here are mimicking that look. I have!

Hope you have a great weekend, Leslie.

Kris, there is a 'cheeriness' - a lively quality - that emanates from these old walls dressed in bright colors and splashed with bouncing light. Who wouldn't want to mimic this energy?! We really profit from our proximity to Italy on this front. I suspect much of the influence is from people arriving in France bringing the colors of 'home' to the region, or French returning from Italy doing exactly what you describe people in the US now doing. We could all use a splash of color - a splash of lively energy, non?

Wishing you a great weekend right back!

Bon dimanche à tous,
Leslie

Oui. I couldn't help but notice your current stack of books and wondered if you have ever read any of Fannie Flagg's books? These are such fun book to read filled with some of the funniest characters and situations. Her most current book I Still Dream About You, had me laughing so hard because I could see a bit of myself in each of her characters. A great book that will lift anyone's spirit.

Kris, thanks for the recommendation. I've not read Flagg's books. I'll have to make a note to self on that. I also need to refresh that current stack of books...these are getting rather dusty!

Oh my! Not sure how I missed these, but miss them I did!

Deborah, ooooh! Will you be sharing where one might find that 'short story set in Provence' once it hits the racks? Hope so! If these colors serve as a bit of inspiration, tant mieux! Makes me all the more anxious to read the results!

Ann Knickerbocker, thank you so much for your lovely compliment! Yes, sounds like you folks are experiencing the monsoon season back in your 'hood! Continuing to send warm thoughts (and soft light) to all my fellow California peeps! Welcome to the table, Ann - where a chair will be waiting anytime you return!

Ciao,
Leslie
