C'est une fille!

Felicitations to the new little princess in the kingdom!  She added herself to the population of Paris last evening around 7:30p - the first baby to be born to the Palais de l'Élysée*!

Unfortunately, her father, Nicolas Sarkozy, was unable to meet her upon her arrival, showing up a handful of hours later.  His presence was required assisting in the "birth" process of a fiscal policy for our rag-tag lot of countries known as the European Union.   Along with Germany's president, Angela Merkel, their shared labor will hopefully keep us from dissolving into financial ruin.  (Good luck with that, by the way!  We're all on pins and needles waiting to see if we sink or swim.  We don't care if the financial plan is a boy or girl - we just want it to be healthy.)

All happy wishes to the newest member of the First Family!

As she gets settled into the palace, we'll be putting a few little things aside for her first trip to Provence.  (Although, we're pretty sure that baby will be dressed in black - like all fashionable young ladies in Paris.)

Ciao,
leslie

babies always represent hope.....a new life.....and a new beginning.....we can always find ways to hope!....things haven't been too cheery in my 'hood....both homes on either side of me have defaulted on their loans, as the owners had both lost their jobs......i give thanks daily for the stability in my life......

Aw, isn't that wonderful...A little girl. Sooo sweet!

I've been reading and watching the news to keep abreast of the EU's fiscal problems. It seems it will affect us somehow too. We aren't without our own problems. Take an upcoming election in 2012, the debt ceiling debacle, mortgage meltdown, Occupy Wall Street protesters, and 9 1/2% unemployment rate and mix them all together and what do you get? A Congress with an approval rate of around 17% who can't agree on anything and people so frustrated and angry they have taken to the streets! Phew!

Btw, I think the little dress you selected for the upcoming lil' princess is adorable! Maybe they will let her wear it until such time she can wear black. LOL

donna, oh how right you are! we could all use a big ol' dose of 'hope' right now! ouch! that's a bit of discouraging news in your 'hood. bless us all as we try to navigate these uncertain days...

Kris, oh yeah...it's likely to affect us all. each continent has its share of difficulty at the moment, doesn't it?! time for each of us to put our hands together, bow our heads, see the highest in others...and wish them happiness in every measure. It's worth a shot!

Bonne nuit mes amis...

Madame LER,

How nice to see your posts again young lady!!

We have to be optimistic about the future of the world, a new and emerging justice, and the economy. There is great reason to have new hope, and much of that comes from those who are leading now occupying of Wall Street and Main Street. Hopefully we all learn and remember there is only room now for love on this planet!!!

I wasn't sure how the blog-o-sphere was working these days for people taking an extended recess and thought I might be returning to a wind tunnel...but so many of you are here - it's really just sooo nice!

Bubba's Person, merci, monsieur. Ahhh...lovely message that: "there is only room now for love on this planet." Let's get the word out tout de suite!
