Sunday Bonus - Southern European Météo...
...or at least le météo here in Aix today: too bloody cold!
(Thanks to a certain anglaise, who one day validated my use of 'bloody', I'm trying to clean up my potty mouth...sort of...okay...let's just say that I'm occasionally inserting more innocuous alternatives to replace...well...let's just say other 'gros mots'* I go through this drill in a cyclic manner....and it usually doesn't really last. Sometimes 'les gros mots' are the only mots that really fit.)
Okay...off to start a pot of spaghetti sauce...or chili...I'll have to see which one wins as the best belly-warmer!
Yours in layers of cashmere - and big wooly ski chausettes - against today's freezing temps,
leslie
ps: if you're late to today's party, don't miss the dance with light that was posted earlier!
*gros mots = swear words

my oh my......i know it's cold but it's so amazingly beautiful........it's just so hard for me to imagine this fountain like that!!!!!.....keep warm....
Madame LER,
Is your marmalade and apricot jam frozen? If so, what do you do about it. Can you get a baguette in your boulangerie? Do you have heat? We are quite worried about you. Even though it is like a sunny summer (no breeze) morning here in your old hood.
Cheers,
Bubba's Person
donna, even though i was freezing my fingertips off while i was trying to shoot this, i was ever-so-pleased to be doing so because you are right: it is amazingly beautiful! once back home, bundled in layers of warmies and sipping hot lemon with cayenne and honey, i managed to stay cozy toute la journée! merci.
BP, If I were to be storing my various confitures and compotes out on the balcony, they would surely be frozen! Inside, the heat is chugging at it's best to keep the bodh-ster and me warm. But that's what cashmere (and adorable puppies who like to cuddle) are for. In fact, he's snoring on my lap as I type this. N'inquietes pas, mes amis. Tout va bien chez la fourchette! We're just squishing the entire winter into a week or 10 days. I actually like it better that way. Enjoy your sunny (and mild) day by the sea!
1. Quelquefois les gros mots sont OK!
2. This is just such a lovely picture Leslie. I particularly like the way that the water has frozen over the side and the steps. With our heat (33c) I would relish such a winter wonderland.
Brrrr! But how beautiful! The little white boy will be a good bed-warmer for you. It was a sunny 71F here in Pebble Beach today but rain is expected Tuesday.

AL, whew! because quelque fois j'emplois les gros mots...errr...peut-être trop souvent! ;} Thank you for the kind words about this shot - between you and me, I thought I cropped too closely at the top but I'm still adjusting to the slight difference between my plan and what the iPhone captures...and thank you. It's just so impressive when this fountain freezes - which isn't very often. And yes, when we're in the middle of scorching heat later on, I'll be pulling this image out and remembering when it was cold!
Emily, brrrrrr, indeed! (Wonder how that gets translated in French? Perhaps it's universal!) Bodhi is a great bed-warmer - he's a cuddler! Just hearing of your lovely temps softened my inner chill for a moment. (I just love Pebble Beach!) Stay out of the puddles up ahead!
I don't know how I missed this post! Beautiful...gorgeous photo
I've heard about the terrible cold snap in Europe. I hope you are staying warm and having lots of comfort food.
Kris, thanks! you must have been busy watching the Super Bowl...while we were all just hanging out *freezing* here in the old country! ;} Butternut squash soup tonight...and bodhi's a great lap-warmer!
