The lights came down yesterday in my little ville.
...and the only thing left to do is ...
...head to a café on the sunny side of the street and wait for Spring to arrive. Sigh...

ps: Is she back to playing with that 'toy' lens of hers?
Why, yes. Yes, I am. Thanks for asking...and playing along.

You compress such atmosphere into your photos... I've never seen the Cours Mirabeau in winter: isn't it stark on a sunny day! In my mind it's always a cathedral of green leaves and shade.
Thank you so much, Leslie, for your lovely comments on my blog - still working on how to post replies!
Deborah, such a nice thing to say...thank you very much. And yes, 'stark' it is. My first winter here, I felt wistful as the leaves of that famous canopy began to fall. I just knew I'd miss the sense of shelter I'd known walking along the cours. But come January, I was *so* happy those leaves were out of the way to let the sunshine in. Suddenly, this California girl had an entirely new understanding of the place deciduous trees play in a region that actually has winter!
(pssst...for replies, go to the main page of your blog and then to the post itself and click on the same 'comments' link that your readers would click on. You'll go right to a comment window to respond. It took me awhile to figure that one out, too.)
Ciao,
Leslie
