La Fourchette's Festival of Lights - A Side Step
A bit of a variation on a theme for our series, this image is a bit of an homage to one of the coolest shops in our little ville...which, I am sad to say, is closing its doors. Home furnishings with an elegant flair were always displayed beautifully and I would often dip in simply for inspiration.
Au revoir au Faubourg.
Hope everyone's week is off to a brilliant start!

Oh no! I love this shop. What a shame - as you say it was always inspiring as they had such pretty displays.
Aixcentric, mais oui! Quel dommage - je sais. I'm not sure which is sadder: the moment last week when I first learned they were closing or the sad look of the place with each passing day as the stock heads out the door and dwindles to a few odds and ends in the shelves that are left. Another one bites the dust...
Now this would be my kind of shop! I would love this. I'm so sorry it is closing. I hate to see shops close...shelves empty and finally the doors close...so sad. It seems there are a lot of them closing now...sigh....
Shops close, dreams shatter and then are are renewed, I hope they reincarnate in some positive form with their gift of providing joy - including the joy provided to a window shopper like me!
clairemca, I'm with you in sending all good wishes for a reincarnation that only builds on the joy they've already provided. I've wondered if this closure is hitting on both cylinders: a closed shop and a shattered dream. The proprietor appears to be serving every.single.visitor and keeping a spirit of equanimity in the chaos of it all. Impressive, I must say. Makes me appreciate him all the more.
Kris, yes! This shop is your kind of place. I'm eager to see what replaces our Le Faubourg...fingers crossed that it will be something equally pleasant to dip into from the rue for beauty and inspiration.
I loved this shop too. So sad they are closing.
Linda, ah yes, it was our little touch of Paris so Le Faubourg will be missed by locals and Parisians alike! Hope all goes well up in your neck of the woods.
